privacy policy
last updated: June 2026
wynd ("the bot", "we") is a Discord bot operated as a personal project. This policy explains what data wynd collects, how it is used, and how long it is retained.
what we collect
wynd stores the minimum data required to function. The following information is saved to a local SQLite database on the host server:
- Guild (server) IDs — to store per-server settings like prefix, mod log channel, and vanity role rules.
- User IDs — to store warnings, mod notes, and AFK status tied to a specific user in a specific server.
- Message content — deleted and edited messages are temporarily cached (one per channel) to power the snipe feature. This data is overwritten each time a new message is deleted or edited and is never transmitted off the host server.
- Custom status text — presence data is read in real time to check for vanity role keywords. It is never stored.
what we do not collect
- We do not collect email addresses, IP addresses, or any personal information outside of Discord.
- We do not sell, share, or transmit any data to third parties.
- We do not use data to train machine learning or AI models.
- We do not store message content beyond the single most recent deleted/edited message per channel.
how long data is kept
Data tied to a server is retained for as long as wynd is in that server. When wynd is removed from a server, you may request deletion of all associated data by contacting us via the support server. Snipe data is ephemeral and is overwritten automatically.
your rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by reaching out in the support server. Server admins can clear snipe data at any time using the .cs command.
third-party services
wynd uses the MyMemory translation API for the .tr command. Text submitted for translation is sent to their service. See MyMemory's privacy policy for details.
children
wynd is not directed at children under 13. Discord's own Terms of Service require users to be at least 13 years old.
